Bahrain: TRA Clarifies License-Exempt Spectrum Rules
July 28, 2026
Bahrain’s TRA has explained how it treats license-exempt bands such as 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRaWAN and PMR446, all on a non-interference, non-protection basis. The position paper is not binding, but it may shape future rulemaking. Type approval remains mandatory for all radio equipment, apart from personal imports for private use.
