Brazil’s National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) moved certification and homologation procedures for telecommunications products to a new platform, Certifica, on September 8, 2026. From that date, the old System for Certification and Homologation Management (SCH) stopped accepting new requests. Certifica handles the same regulatory functions on updated technology, and the certification rules themselves have not changed. The change affects manufacturers, importers, designated certification bodies, laboratories and others involved in certifying telecommunications products.
What Changes
Only the system used to process certification and homologation requests changes. Certifica now handles the functions previously carried out in SCH. Anatel noted that nothing changes for end consumers.
Supported Conformity Assessment Models
At launch, Certifica supports two conformity assessment models:
- Technical Conformity Certification through Designated Certification Bodies
- Declaration of Conformity
Conformity assessment for products intended for proprietary use will continue to go through Anatel’s Electronic Information System (SEI) for now, until Certifica adds that functionality.
