Japan: New Technical Standards for Wireless Power Transfer Systems

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has announced a partial amendment to the Ordinances for Enforcement of the Radio Act. This update introduces technical requirements for Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) systems operating in the 6.7 MHz band to support transport robots in logistics and manufacturing. The amendment, which aims to ensure safe and efficient system performance in industrial settings, is expected to be adopted and enforced in December 2024.
