Vietnam: Updated Energy Efficiency Product List

On July 1, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) of Vietnam issued Decision No. 1725/QD-BCT, updating the list of energy-efficient products subject to energy testing and labeling. This decision replaces Appendix 3 of the previous Decision No. 1182/QD-BCT from May 20, 2019.

Key Updates

  • Included Products: The revised list included updates for various ICT equipment and household appliances, such as laptops, desktop computers, printers, computer monitors, photocopiers, and fans.
  • Energy Efficiency Standards: The update specifies energy efficiency standards for these products, aligning with the latest regulations to ensure better energy use and reduced environmental impact.

Some products on the new energy-efficient list also fall under Circular 02/2024/TT-BTTTT from the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC). This means they must adhere to both MIC’s import regulations and MOIT’s energy efficiency labeling requirements. Manufacturers and importers of these products are responsible for ensuring compliance with these energy efficiency standards.
