5G Infrastructure Deployment
By the year 2030, Russia has planned to deploy 5G infrastructure in 16 cities to enhance the lives citizens through connectivity. The government shared news on the local supply of equipment with the 5G equipment pilot projects ready to be launched by 2025. By the end of the decade, all of the highways in Russia will also have mobile internet connection which will provide connectivity to people travelling across the country.
The long-term strategy also provides for the readiness of 6G by 2035. In this third phase, the focus will be on the improvement and testing of operations with the help of equipment developed and manufactured in Russia and which is compatible with both the 5G and 6G networks. Russia is planning to enhance information security by using the cryptographic solutions which are approved by the Federal Security Service of Russia. Furthermore, the communication strategy entails the relocation of the 3G spectrum for 4G and 5G networks in the course of modernization process.
