Key Exemptions for Wireless Devices
To encourage market growth and reduce regulatory barriers, the Ministry of Communications has granted full import exemptions for the following wireless devices:
- Video projectors (home or office use)
- Gaming consoles
- Wireless chargers
- Cochlear implant devices for hearing improvement
These exemptions are aimed at streamlining the import process, particularly for devices compliant with European standards (CE marking), which ensures alignment with international safety and quality standards.
Reducing Barriers for Importers
Previously, importers were required to submit applications and obtain approvals for bringing wireless devices into Israel. Under this new regulation, these steps are no longer necessary for the exempted devices, significantly speeding up the process and reducing costs for both businesses and consumers.
Adv. Inbal Mashash, the Director General of the Ministry, noted that these changes would provide consumers with access to a wider range of products at more competitive prices, all while maintaining safety and international compliance.
Alongside the four main exempted devices, baby monitors with cameras (such as Baby Sense/Monitors) will also receive exemptions for personal imports. This decision follows a risk assessment by the Ministry to ensure consumer safety while responding to increased demand.
