The Bureau of Indian Standards recently released the guidelines for implementing parallel testing for products covered in the Electronics and Information Technology Goods order.
Recent guidelines by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) introduce parallel testing for electronics and IT hardware products, potentially saving 4 to 13 weeks in the compliance process, as confirmed by an industry body.
The BIS, effective January 9, has made parallel testing a permanent provision for 64 products under the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS). Manufacturers can now opt for voluntary parallel testing, a process that not only streamlines compliance but also accelerates the go-to-market strategy, enhancing business efficiency and enabling quicker product introductions, according to Suhail Zaidi, Director General of industry body MAIT.
