Important Features of the Spectrum Management Framework

Developed in collaboration with Huawei Technologies, the guidelines outline best practices for managing the radio spectrum while addressing current and future industry needs. The document emphasizes the importance of communication network security and includes insights from the World Radiocommunication Conference 2023 (WRC-2023).

The guidelines aim to reorganize certain frequency bands to accommodate emerging technologies such as 4G, 5G, and IoT. This initiative responds to the growing demand for spectrum resources and lays a foundation for advancing Angola’s electronic communications sector.

Impact on the Sector

Described as a “small white book,” the guidelines provide operators with a clear framework to support sustainable growth and innovation. They signify an important step in aligning Angola’s spectrum management practices with global trends, ensuring the country’s readiness for next-generation technologies.
